This Privacy Policy explains how iSNOOP (“iSNOOP”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the iSNOOP mobile application and the iSNOOP website at isnoop.app (together, the “Service”).
We built iSNOOP to help you understand what is in the products you eat and put on your skin. We designed it to work without collecting more information about you than it needs.
The Service uses your device camera solely to read product barcodes. Camera images used for scanning are processed on your device and are not stored or transmitted by us, except where you deliberately submit a photograph as part of a product submission.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: your consent (for example, camera access and optional submissions); our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service; and compliance with legal obligations.
The free version of iSNOOP displays advertising supplied by third-party advertising providers. These providers may use identifiers for advertising purposes in accordance with your device settings. You can limit ad tracking through your device’s privacy settings.
Advertising is strictly separated from scoring. No advertiser, brand, or manufacturer can pay to influence, raise, or remove a product score. Scores are produced from published scientific and regulatory sources only.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:
If you submit a missing product, the product information and images you provide become part of the iSNOOP product database and may be visible to other users. Do not include personal information, faces, or anything you would not want shared in a product submission.
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy. Anonymous scan and usage data may be retained in aggregated form to improve the Service. Product submissions are retained as part of the product database. Correspondence is retained as long as needed to handle your query.
We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit and access controls on our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
iSNOOP is available internationally and our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where information is transferred across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in a manner consistent with this Policy.
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, or to object to it. Because iSNOOP does not require an account and does not hold information that identifies you by name, we may need additional information to locate any data relating to you — and in many cases we will hold none.
The Service may link to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app or on the website. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
